What is kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a profession in the field of health whose specialty is human movement. The kinesiologist uses physical and motor activity for the purposes of prevention, treatment and performance.
During the 1990s, scientific data grew to show that the practice of physical activity was the best way to prevent and treat the majority of health problems (high blood pressure, type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, depression, anxiety, etc.).
Consequently, physical activity has been recognized not only as a good way to maintain and regain good physical shape, but also healthy physical and psychological health. Consequently, the science surrounding the practice of physical activity as well as the care and treatment associated with it have improved, which has allowed the emergence of kinesiology.
It is by responding to a real need that the kinesiologist has since established himself as a health professional, a specialist in physical activity.

Who and for what to consult a kinesiologist?
Very often it happens that patients consult in order to join the space between the end of physiotherapy treatments for example and the return to their physical and sports activities, it is then that the seasoned kinesiologist will be all its importance.
On the other hand, the kinesiologist may be the person to consult if your doctor suggests weight loss or a change in lifestyle in order to adjust your medication. It sometimes also happens to be referred to a kinesiologist before or after a surgical intervention in order to sensitize you and / or strengthen the structures concerned and thus accelerate the rehabilitation process and potentially facilitate the medical intervention.
